A lawsuit filed this week against GameStop acusses the company of "deceptively misleading" its customers into believing a used game purchased from the store comes with all packaged downloadable content advertised on the box. This content, however, is only made available for free to those who purchase the game new, as the code to access the content can be only used one time.
James Collin bought a Dragon Age:Origins game from gamestop earlier in January for $54.99, $5 less than the new game with full access to downloadable content. James thought that he would be able to download the content since the box showed the downloadable content could be downloaded if the old version was bought.
However James found out that he could not and would have to pay additional $15 for this content. The manager of Gamestop declined to return the game as seven days had passed only during games could be returned.
'Gamestop is well aware of this procedure and frauds customers to buy these games' the suit states.
Collins is currently demanding for compensation.
No Gamestop representative could be reached at the moment to comment.
